I hereby acknowledge that participating in the Orangevale Summer Palooza Power Wheels Derby can be a potentially hazardous activity and that all participants should be in good medical and physical condition. I assume all risks associated with my/my child’s participation in the Power Wheels Derby including, but not limited to, bodily injury, contact with other participants and animals, emotional distress, effects of the weather, and damage to personal property. I waive and release the Orangevale Summer Palooza, All Events Management Group, Orangevale Recreation and Park District., all directors, staff, partners, sponsors, vendors, officials, volunteers, and their representatives and successors from all claims and liabilities of any kind arising out of my/my child’s participation in the Power Wheels Derby.
By submitting registration, I hereby acknowledge and agree to all the above terms. I certify that the above-named participant is in good medical and physical condition and has permission to participate in the Power Wheels Derby. Further, I grant permission for the use of any photos or videos of me/my child for marketing purposes.

Driver's Rules
1. Judges can rule that children won’t participate if there are modifications to the car more than those allowed that are stated below!
2. Kids 3-10 years of age may participate. Age Classes; 3-5, 6-7, and 8-10. ALL kids must be accompanied by an adult. If necessary, split into classes based on the number of participants
3. All drivers must supply their own car and set it up according to the rules.
4. When choosing a Power Wheels for your child, please keep in mind these vehicles will be running into each other (like bumper cars or derby cars). The Power Wheels need to be the kind the child sits IN, not ON. No 4-WHEELERS, TRACTORS, MOTORCYCLES!
5. Driver only, NO passengers
6. Derby is limited to 6 to 12-volt power wheels ONLY. Motors must remain stock. No connecting multiple batteries together.
7. A seatbelt is recommended.
8. No added reinforcements for strength.
9. All doors and tailgates must be strapped shut. No sharp edges. Use zip ties or duct tape (or other flexible products) to make them stay shut.
10. Stock tires only. No screws in tires, no chains, etc. Tires may be covered in duct tape to prevent them from breaking, nothing else.
11. They must be the stock height that came from the store.
12. The vehicle is allowed to have UP TO a 12-volt lawn mower or motorcycle battery. Battery cannot be mounted in the passenger seat, and the battery must be secured and sealed away from the child. No connecting multiple batteries together.
13. Decorative changes can be made to the Power Wheels to make it look like a derby car; however, there can be no reinforcement to the Power Wheels. Changes and additions can ONLY be decorative. i.e.: header pipes sticking up, painting the car, etc.
14. Helmets are mandatory; bicycle helmets are permitted
15. Shoes or sneakers required. NO sandals.
16. Any situation that arises, the Chairman has the power to add or change rules as required. If it isn’t in the rules, it doesn’t make it legal.
17. All entries must be at Orangevale Summer Palooza Corral by 1:00 PM for final registration. Please bring power wheels to the front of the grandstand arena.
18. All Children must have a signed consent form from a parent or guardian and will be available at registration or online at www.ovsummerpalooza.com
19. Register children and 1 parent will receive free admission to OV Summer Palooza, family and friends will need to pay the entrance fee. Parking is not included in registration.
20. Maximum 30 entries. All participants receive bragging trophies.
21. 2 balloons will be furnished and attached to the front and back of the power wheel. When the child’s balloons are popped, they will be eliminated from the Derby. The winner will be a child with a balloon still inflated and attached. Power Wheels Derby will run for a 20-minute “heat”. If a clear winner is not defined judges will select Best of Show.
